Advising Services

1. Academic advising for undergraduate students in baccalaureate level programs up to the completion of 45 credit hours and acceptance into one of the School of Education’s undergraduate programs; and graduate level master’s students prior to formal admission to graduate programs. Assist students with program planning and “staying on course” with the prescribed curricula.
2. Advise degree holders prior to formal admission into the master’s programs.
3. Maintain student confidential files prior to formal admission to M.T. and selected M.Ed. programs.
4. Provide outreach to students who receive “early alert” notices prior to the mid-term evaluation period to increase student retention.

Licensure and Clinical Placements

1. Secure clinical placements for practica, student teaching, internships, and externships.
2. Prepare credential files.
3. Process applications for state school personnel licensure.
4. Process applications for admission to teacher preparation (including Praxis I scores).
5. Hold periodic meetings for individuals seeking licensure for teaching.
6. Hold orientation meetings for new and transfer students ( Open House, Family Week-end).
