Off-Campus Registration Information
Registration is open to all students who qualify for the courses being offered. Courses numbered 500 and above are graduate level -- only those students who hold an undergraduate degree are eligible to enroll.
For Continuing Students: Course registration can be completed online at http://www.eservices.vcu.edu/ through the first day of the course if you have been enrolled at VCU within the past three semesters for degree-seeking students, and in the previous semester for special non-degree seeking students.
For Those Enrolling at VCU for the First Time, coming back after an extended period of time, or having trouble registering online: You can either enroll during the first class meeting or register directly with SOE Associates. If you elect to wait until the first class, you are advised to call SOE Associates before that date to determine the status of the course. A course that has a low enrollment may be canceled prior to the first meeting. Also, a course may have reached maximum enrollment before the first meeting date; in this case, you will not be able to register on-site.
To register with SOEA, either visit the office on VCU's Academic Campus at 1015 West Main Street, Oliver Hall School of Education, Room 1057 (This office is open for registration from 8:30am-4:00pm Monday-Friday and can be reached at 804.828.1322 or soea@vcu.edu), or print the Off-Campus Registration form below and fax or mail it to SOEA.
The document below is in pdf format, so you must have Adobe Reader to view and print.

Remember, this form must be returned by mail, fax or in person to SOE Associates. (We cannot accept registrations via email or as email attachments.) (Delivery/Contact Information)
Anyone who does not qualify for online registration must register through SOE Associates.
If the course is restricted in any way, students must register through SOE Associates.
Students will not receive confirmation of enrollment. It is the student's responsibility to inquire about course information. Registration confirmation can be accessed online at http://www.eservices.vcu.edu/.
Please note, the location of a class does not restrict enrollment to those employed in the school division where the class is scheduled. Any restrictions will be noted in the description.
Normal prerequisites indicated in course descriptions apply to off-campus courses. Students working on degrees at other institutions or who have questions about the suitability of a course to meet a program or degree requirement are encouraged to communicate with their advisors to determine the transferability of the VCU course to their program.
Please remember, once you are officially registered, you are considered a Current Student and should familiarize yourself with the policies and procedures of VCU via the main website www.vcu.edu Most links used by students can be found by clicking on "For Current Students."
Off-campus courses are subject to change. Please check this website prior to the first class meeting to verify course information.
Off-Campus Tuition
The current rate in the Summer 2008 for off-campus courses scheduled by the School of Education at VCU is $566.55 (in-state)
& Fall 2008 is $625.65 (in-state) for a three-credit course, either graduate or undergraduate credit. This rate is calculated at $188.85
(Summer) & $208.55 (Fall) per credit hour. The per credit hour rate for off-campus courses scheduled through the School of Education is a part-time rate. Graduate students taking 9 or more credit hours or Undergraduate students taking 12 or more credit hours in a semester will be charged the
on-campus full-time rate according to the student’s residency status. Please note: Tuition rates are subject to change.
YOU WILL BE BILLED BY THE OFFICE OF STUDENT ACCOUNTING AFTER YOUR REGISTRATION HAS BEEN ENTERED INTO THE ENROLLMENT SERVICES SYSTEM. Students can view and pay their bill online after official registration (and after acquiring their VCU Card from the VCU Card Office) by logging into e-services at http://www.eservices.vcu.edu/, or they can elect to wait for billing to their home address.
If your employer or another agency is paying for part or all of your tuition, you will need to make special arrangements with the VCU Department of Student Accounting at 804.828.2228. When you receive your tuition bill, please check it carefully for accuracy. If you believe an error has been made, call the VCU Department of Student Accounting immediately.
It is possible to pay your tuition by credit card. VISA, MasterCard or Discover credit cards are honored by the Department of Student Accounting. University (state and federal) financial assistance is usually not available to part-time students. The tuition amount for one course does not meet the minimum requirement for financial assistance consideration through university financial aid, but some students may be eligible for certain scholarships offered through the School of Education.

eID, Enrollment Verification & Grades
As stated previously, students will not receive confirmation of enrollment. Once students are officially registered, they are considered a current student and can log into e-services at
http://www.eservices.vcu.edu/ in order to confirm enrollment & receive final grades.
To use VCU's online systems, students must retrieve their Banner ID
number from either their instructor, or in person from Records &
Registration or the SOEA Office. When this number is obtained,
go online to
http://www.ts.vcu.edu/faq/accounts/ to find individual eIDs &
passwords.
Drops, Withdrawals & Refunds
Students in off-campus courses are subject to the same refund policy as all other university students if the course is scheduled on the regular semester schedule. If the off-campus course is shorter or longer than the academic semester, the refund dates are adjusted accordingly. For the University Policy go to the semester information online at
http://www.pubapps.vcu.edu/bulletins/graduate/?uid=10045&iid=30065

Inclement Weather Information
Every effort will be made to have all classes meet as scheduled. When inclement weather jeopardizes the safety of faculty and students, classes will be canceled. The information will be provided to all local radio and television stations. If VCU classes are canceled, all off-campus classes will be canceled. Here are some guidelines to follow when there is a question as to whether or not a class has been canceled because of inclement weather.
Call the VCU Inclement Weather Line at 804.VCU.OPEN (804.828.6736).
Visit the VCU Alert Website at http://www.vcu.edu/alert/
Call SOE Associates at 804.828.1322 during regular business hours.
Call the location where the class is being held.
If radio announcements have been made that the schools are being closed (where your class is scheduled) or will be closed by the time your class starts, then the class is canceled.
If the weather is bad in Richmond and the instructor cannot get to the off-campus location then the class is canceled.
If there is any question about the cancellation or schedule change for an off-campus class, call SOE Associates at 804.828.1322.
Scholarships
The School of Education supports part- and full-time students enrolled in undergraduate and graduate programs each academic year. Such support is in the form of scholarships as well as fellowships, assistantships, and part-time employment. Applications and required attachments for School of Education scholarships are due on the Friday preceding VCU’s Spring Break to be considered for awards during the following academic year (i.e., applications for the 2007-2008 academic year were due on March 19, 2007). Students enrolled in off-campus courses may be eligible for some of the scholarships and other aid offered.
