SOE Associates has been renamed the Center for Professional Growth!

Lifelong learning is a high priority for Virginia Commonwealth University and the School of Education. For more than twenty years, this center has been an integral part of the School of Education in partnering with the K-12 and adult learner sectors of education.

Our role is to promote, in close cooperation with school districts, agencies and health institutions, professional development opportunities for teachers, clinicians, administrators and others seeking to further their education. These opportunities can be for undergraduate or graduate credit, CEUs or contact hours.

The Center for Professional Growth coordinates all off-campus credit courses for the School of Education. Classes are offered off-campus in traditional classrooms, online, and a blend of face-to-face and online. Learning opportunities are constantly developed to meet recertification and other professional development needs.

The overall goal is to provide academic opportunities for professionals within the education community.

Inclement Weather Information
Every effort will be made to have all classes meet as scheduled. When inclement weather jeopardizes the safety of faculty and students, classes will be canceled. The VCU information will be provided by the university to all local radio and television stations. If VCU classes are canceled, all off-campus classes will be canceled. Click here to view the New Teacher Center @ VCU Leadership Series! This is a non-credit collaboration between the nationally recognized New Teacher Center and the Center for Professional Growth in VCU's School of Education.


Administration and Supervision Licensure Tutorial Session-- This is a non-credit opportunity to prepare for the assessment of leadership skills and knowledge required for Administration and Supervision Licensure by the Virginia Department of Education.
