Grant Search Engines:

Grants.gov – Grants.gov provides a database to search and apply for federal
government grants. Searches may be performed by keyword, category, agency, date, funding activity, funding instrument, and eligibility. Users may also sign up for an email
alert service of all new grant opportunities.

SPIN– SPIN is a funding opportunity database provided through VCU’s Electronic
Research Administration (ERA) portal. VCU researchers may search for current national
and international, government and private funding sources, including fellowships, research grants, publication support, sabbatical support, curriculum development, and more. To
access the ERA system, users must first have a GENIUS profile. Click here to access a request form.

SMARTS – SMARTS is accessed by VCU’s Electronic Research Administration System (ERA). Faculty and staff with a GENIUS profile can create a daily email announcement of funding opportunities based on keywords selected in their GENIUS profile.

The Chronicle of Philanthropy – This website provides a searchable database of
not-for-profit grant opportunities by subject.
