On Friday, Nov. 13, Dr. William C. “Bill” Bosher Jr., will be posthumously honored with an exemplary lifetime leadership award at the 11th annual Excellence in Virginia Government Awards at the Richmond Marriott hotel.
In his addition to his tenure as School of Education dean, which spanned from 2002-05, Bosher led an extraordinary career in education, serving as superintendent of both Henrico County and Chesterfield County schools. Bosher, who passed away last year, also served as state superintendent of public instruction, and was a distinguished professor of public policy at the Wilder School and founding director of its Commonwealth Educational Policy Institute.
