Dissemination
MERC believes that research has value, primarily when it is utilized to improve school programs and professional practice. MERC's research is transmitted to its members through products, networking opportunities, and follow-up activities.

Newsletter. The newsletter is published twice a year and provides a clear, concise picture of the issues MERC is addressing. It identifies opportunities for participation in study groups or seminars. Each issue will include research briefs.
Publications. MERC's publications list is extensive and continually grows as research teams complete their work. A current publications list is available online. (see publications folder)
Creative Works. At the end of each study, MERC produces presentation aides such as transparencies and slides that enhance communication of the findings.
Research Briefs. MERC provides research briefs for each study. The briefs provide short synopses of the studies conducted. Research briefs are distributed with the newsletter.
Networking Opportunities
Membership Meetings. Quarterly member meetings allow top leadership to discuss educational issues and MERC studies in an open and supportive environment.
Study Groups. Study groups are forums for representatives of member school divisions to network, learn and focus MERC's research efforts. The representatives discuss the issues faced in the research area. Contacts are established with other members having similar duties and responsibilities. Not only do they learn from the research being conducted, but also from each other.
Seminars/Conferences. MERC provides research seminars when each study is completed, and issue seminars when a study group determines a need for immediate information in a research area. These seminars present useful information from MERC research studies, and cross discussions within and between school divisions. Issue seminars with noted experts provide first hand information. Check out the news folder for upcoming events and announcements.
