- Research interests include (1)the impact of test-based accountability policies on teachers, students, and classroom practice in general and special education settings; (2) the impact of high-stakes testing policies on student progress through the k-12 public school system, with particular emphasis on the Grade 9 transition, dropout and retention rates, and graduation rates; and (3) the intersection of test-based accountability programs and federal special education policies, with a focus on graduation rates and diploma earning patterns of students with disabilities
