Research Interests
Evelyn Reed-Victor

My research interests include community-based personnel preparation and development in early intervention. Our Metro READY program prepares early intervention and early childhood special educators to work effectively in high needs communities. This project links research and practice through community scholars, community-based courses, service learning, family mentorship, and an online community of practice (http://www.vcu.edu/metroready/).

I am also interested in the role of early literacy coaching in early education settings, and work with Early Reading First colleagues in the development and study of this personnel development method in Richmond Early Reading First and Richmond’s Partnerships for Excellence in Early Language and Literacy Skills (http://www.theliteracyinstitute.org/rerf) The influence of classroom-based coaching on young children’s self-regulation and language development will also be investigated.
