Master in Education - Emotional Disturbance
The Master of Education in Emotional Disturbance Program provides teachers the professional knowledge and skills needed to work in a variety of settings: general education classrooms (where children with special needs are being included), resource rooms, self-contained classrooms and residential programs. In developing teacher competencies the master’s program focuses on specific skills and strategies for diagnosing and remediating behavior and learning problems of students with emotional disturbance. The educational and therapeutic interventions taught in the program are based on a number of theoretical models including behavioral, psychodynamic, ecological and psycho educational.
