Kitty J. Boitnott (Ph.D. ’07) was appointed to the P-16 Education Council by Virginia Governor Timothy M. Kaine. Elin C. Doval (Ph.D. ’08) was appointed to the Virginia Latino Advisory Board by Governor Timothy M. Kaine as its first representative for Special Education and Disability Policy.

Jaroa A. Favilla (M.T. ’08) is employed as a Spanish teacher for Henrico County
Public Schools in Henrico, Va. Norman L. Hilliard (M.Ed. ’70), of Richmond, and his wife, Lola, have two children, Norma and Cathy, and three grandsons. Hilliard taught in the School of
Pharmacy from 1963 to 1973 and retired in 1991 as assistant provost.

Charlotte Jensen (M.T. ’94) serves as president of Cole James Associates.

Svetlana C. Ross (B.S. ’97) was recognized by Guiness World Records for having the longest legs of any woman in the world. Standing at 6 feet and 5 inches, Ross’ legs measure almost 4 feet and 4 inches.

Patricia I. Wright (M.Ed. ’84) was appointed to the Education Commission of the States by Virginia Governor Timothy M. Kaine; she also has been named to a national task force of the Council of Chief State School Officers that will advise President Obama’s administration on education issues.
