3. Choose a piece of software that you want to use in your classroom. Using
Ms. Payton's guidelines and the example given in the Power Point, review the
software to see if it meets your curriculum and students' needs. Follow these
guidelines:
a. Identify and clarify criteria: Make a list of the skills you
want the
software to reinforce. You will also
want to include criteria about
the compatibility of the software and
your teaching approach, as
well as the ease of student use.
b. Develop and clarify gradations of quality: After deciding
upon the
skills you want reinforced by
the software, create a scoring scale
to help you articulate the
differences and quality levels of the
software you review.
c. Create
the actual rubric chart: Review the software and complete
the rubric. Afterwards, decide
if the software is appropriate for your
classroom.
